    • Councillor: Elected as a councillor in the Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat in 1997.

    • MLA: Represented the Rairangpur constituency in the Odisha Legislative Assembly (2000–2009).

    • Minister: Held portfolios like Commerce, Transport, and Fisheries in the Odisha government (2000–2004).

    • Governor of Jharkhand: Served as the 9th Governor of Jharkhand from May 2015 to July 2021, becoming the first woman to hold this post.

  3. Presidency:

    • Elected as India's President in 2022, becoming the first tribal woman and the second woman overall to hold the post.
